First Day of School 2013

We survived the dreaded First Day Of School.
Brody woke up fist pumping, yelling "first day of school, first day of school, Yaaaaaaa".
I figured I wouldn't be lucky enough to have that uncontrollable excitement last, but it did.  He ran right into his playground, when the bell rang he found his teacher, and marched into class smiling and waving.  Landon, well lets just say he has never nor will he ever, be that enthusiastic about school (makes me so sad).  I was so anxious, watching the clock all day, and couldn't wait to pick them up.
Brody came running to me with a giant smile and yelled "that was soooo awesome" (I swear every teacher within ears shot, spun around smiling).  I started with the million and one questions (Brody excited to answer and Landon annoyed).  Did you make any new friends? Do you like your teacher?  Did you have fun? Did you eat all your lunch? Did you go potty? What was your favorite part of the day? What did you do at recess? Then we found out about Brody's playground accident (I was wondering why he was so dirty).  He fell at recess and got really banged up, I mean REALLY banged up.  The moment he showed us my heart broke in a million pieces.  A million more questions. Did the teacher help you? No!  What do you mean no? She gave me bandaids when we got back to class! Did she help you? She took them out of the package! Were you upset? no! Did she give you a hug? No! When we got home Lee had to put him in the bath because the cuts were really bad and all full of mud. I needed to take a second.  Sending my kids to school is definitely harder on me than it is on them.  I'm hoping it gets easier one day.  I have a real problem with letting go.  In my ideal world I would have them with me always, but that wouldn't be very healthy for anyone.
