Summer Snow Day

It was the first weekend since the kids went back to school.  

Saturday was our summer snow day.

We made snowflakes, watched a movie in an igloo, 

and had a snowball fight. 

 Warning: snowballs turn to iceballs when it is 110 degrees out (Brody and I have bruises to prove it).

Summer fun!

We hung out together, made giant ice balls with toys inside, swam, baked delicious brownie peanut butter cups and barbecued salmon for dinner.  I am so looking forward to 5 more weeks of lazy, fun filled, family time.

I want to be sure that Baby Cash's arrival isn't too much of an adjustment for Landon and Brody. They deserve to have a fun filled summer after working hard all school year. I sat them down and asked them to make a list with everything they would like to do in the summer. Some I was already planning on, some made me chuckle and some will be for daddy to do with them (heehee).

We typed up our list, taped it on the top of a big container and have now started filling the container with all supplies needed for a fun filled summer. Their little faces light up every time they spot the container. Bring on SUMMER!!!

Seriously funny (and fun), until the adults started throwing the leftover pieces that turned to ice chunks. Sarah got a bruise on her back, I thought my neck was bleeding and Lee thought he chipped his tooth when I face washed him LOL. The kids had a smile from ear to ear. We're planning our next fight already. Lee said that next time he's buying the 60 pack of snowballs. So who wants in on a snowball fight??

Homemade ice cream

We made homemade ice cream for dessert. Landon and Daddy love chocolate and Brody and Mommy love vanilla. Chocolate won. Landon gave it two thumbs up and Brody gave it two thumbs down. Brody and I preferred to eat spoonfuls of marshmallow fluff.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they make the best of everything.
