This is my favorite kind of post, a post of absolute randomness. I know that these are the posts that my kids, my husband and myself will look back on and treasure (after busting a gut laughing). I want to remember all those moments (the good, the bad and the hilarious) that are so quickly forgotten.
Baby Man is growing up so fast. He loves rice cookies, vegetables (strange kid I know), blowing bubbles (his new trick) and trying to grab a doggie as they pass by. I'm really not positive that he knows his name. I have a really bad habit of calling all three of my kids by their nicknames rather than their real names. Landon = Bubby, Brody = Bubba and Cash = Baby Man. Once when Landon was about 18 months old he told a stranger his name was Bubby LOL
Those who know me well will know that something awkward or inappropriate can escape these lips of mine at any moment (I blame this on having such an innocent mind lol). My most recent awkward moment took place at CVS the other week. The baby had broken out in a huge rash and the Pediatrician had told us to cover him in vasoline 3 times a day (turning him into a slip-n-slide). I was running out to print off some pictures and as I was running out the door Lee yelled for me to buy a big tub of vasoline. I printed my pictures and proceeded to the check out line. When the cashier asked if the photos were all that I had needed I quickly replied with "OH NO, my husband told me to get a HUGE (while making exaggerated hand gestures) tub a Vasoline". Once I processed what I had just said out loud, I gasped, my mouth flew open, then I looked up at the cashier (making it that much more awkward) and I added "for the baby". We both giggled and then she said "you can find that in the personal care isle". AWKWARD!, what is the matter with me.
Landon comes out of the shower, walks into the family room with his hands on his hips as he yells "MOM, I don't have any undies that fit. Where are all my sexy boxy shorts?". Funny
The kids were getting sleepy and started getting cozy in the family room. I walked past and asked "would you like mom to put on a Christmas special to watch before bed or would you rather watch me dance?". Landon chose watching mom dance and quickly regretted it. I have never seen such a look of disgust. I think the only one that enjoyed it was Lee (who was falling off the couch laughing) and maybe Baby Man (he looked a little confused by the whole thing).
I was telling Lee about a sweet neighbor of ours that I met when picking Landon up from the school bus. The following day Lee was waiting for Landon at the bus stop when he saw the sweet neighbor man and decided to introduce himself. Our neighbors name is Al, Lee wasn't sure if he heard him correctly, as he went to shake his hand Lee said "Al?? (with a question mark), Lee". The neighbor said "well thats a name I can remember, nice to meet you Ali". Did Lee correct him?......no LOL. He ran home to tell me that the neighbor thinks his name is Ali and that he was too embarrassed to correct him. I have never laughed so hard. His nickname is no longer Sexy Pants, I call him Prince Ali. Prince Ali fabulous he Ali Ababwa !
Brody found a toe ring in my bedroom and was wearing it as a ring. Sarah thought it was the cutest thing she had ever seen, a little ring on the most adorable chubby little hand. She asked if he would like to make it look like he had an earring on and he replied "No that would be too cute. I don't want to be too cute". Hilarious
Most memorable moment of the week........hanging out with Landon while the baby took a nap and Brody and Lee were at a birthday party. We decorated his room with the cheesiest, tackiest, homemade Christmas decorations (Elf would be proud) then cuddled up in his bunk bed and watched A Christmas Story while eating marshmallows. His little giggles are music to my ears.
Sarah and I's history knowledge is laughable and embarrassing (enough said). Lee's shock and amazement of how little we know, never gets old.
My kids have perfected the Gangnam Style dance moves. Landon thoroughly embarrassed his dad when he broke out into dance in the middle of Wendy's.
Enough randomness. The house is getting quiet, kiddos are almost ready for bed, its raining out, I have christmas music playing, Yuletide log crackling on the t.v., flannel pj's on, sipping a rootbeer (the makings of a wild evening). Waiting on the hubs, anything is possible tonight =)
