Just me or does everyone have holiday traditions that they continue to do even though they HATE IT!
I will give you my top three....
1) carving pumpkins (messy, hate it)
2) Dying Easter eggs (really messy, hate it)
3) Lighted Christmas parade (HATE IT!)
Thankfully my sweet, sweet hubby took over #1 and #2. Love him.
Christmas parade however, each year I say "I will never do this again"
(we're on year 6 people).
The only smart one this year was Pop. Pop did't join us and I was very jealous =)
The problem with this Christmas parade is that the next morning, I find the memories hilarious.
Me driving, Lee squished in the back with a crying baby, no parking spots to be found, me getting crazy because nobody is helping me, stopping in the middle of a dirt field to switch places with hubby, me yelling that I am not getting back in the car and he can find a place to park, hubby tearing through the field with his car full of kids in his ridiculous looking reindeer car (yes we have antlers and a red nose, embarrassing), walking fifty miles to get to the parade, making our way through ginormous crowds, freezing our hineys off, at least one kid will fall asleep, parade ends, make our way out of the crowds with kids complaining that they are tired and their feet hurt, and listen to a crying baby the whole way home (while the other two kids sing Feliz Navidad).
Sounds terrible to most, but my kids enjoy it and I laugh about it every year
(sadly Lee can't laugh about it).
Sarah's favorite part of the parade.
Baby mans face says it all. He wasn't sure how he felt about the parade (confused, scared, excited?), he just wanted to go home and go to bed.
